Article_15

Some of the top shingle manufacturers in the United States are CertainTeed Roofing, GAF, IKO, Malarkey Roofing, Owens Corning, and Pabco Roofing Products. They all offer great products and have been producing shingles for many years. Some brands are more common in certain areas of the country. Some roofing contractors have certifications with certain shingle manufacturers and can offer extended warranties, that is why they recommend specific shingles. Just like cars or other consumer products, all shingles have pros and cons. Below you will find a brief description of each shingle manufacturer.

  • CertainTeed Roofing. CertainTeed Roofing specializes in manufacturing a full range of low and steep slope roofing products for residential and commercial applications. CertainTeed Roofing is part of CertainTeed Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of building materials including roofing, vinyl and fiber cement siding, trim, fence, railing, decking, foundations, insulation, gypsum, ceilings and pipe products. • IKO. Established over 60 years ago, IKO remains a family-run business, engaged in the manufacturing and sale of asphalt roofing materials. It is a vertically integrated roofing company, producing many of the raw materials used in manufacturing its shingles, such as mineral stabilizer, roofing granules, fiberglass strands, and fiberglass mat. Most key components are manufactured within IKO’s family of companies, under its own stringent quality assurance. This provides superior quality assurance over all its finished products. The IKO family of companies has over 25 manufacturing plants throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
  • Malarkey Roofing. Malarkey Roofing Products is a Portland, Oregon based roofing manufacturer that provides performance-driven residential, commercial, and sustainable roofing solutions with unparalleled service and integrity.
